When you are on the waiting list we will hold your details in line with GDPR and contact you via email if a place becomes available. We may need to ask you to resubmit your interest after a certain time in line with GDPR and data retention.

Social players in our senior teams and training will be contacted fairly frequently, as spaces often become availabile on a termly or yearly basis. Competitive players on our junior teams from Year 5 until Senior level are extremely rare. 

We have around 1-3 competitive players each year leave the club. We are proud of our high retention rate and how well we keep teenage girls playing sport. This also means places are very hard to come by after our main recruitment window. Please do:

• Get involved early (year 5)

• Get involved in volunteering 

• Join the waiting list

• Work hard at school netball and participate in other netball opporuntities to develop

We do not have annual open trials. We believe in our coaching at Otley NC. Players who have shown continued teamwork, hard work and inclusivity in line with our values; as well as performance at the standard of competition required are invited to trial for the following season. No player has the right to ongoing selection, but we honour our commitment to the development of our members through this internal trial process. After this internal selection process - if places are made available all individuals in that age group will be contacted directly - only from the waiting list.

Players may also leave at any time during the year for various reasons, and in this instance all individuals in that age group will be contacted directly - only from the waiting list.

We occasionally invite waiting list players to summer training sessions, but this is dependent on coaching, court availability and other resources and all individuals in this age group will be contacted directly - only from the waiting list.

If no replies are recieved from the waiting list candidates we may go out to advertise for certain age groups or positions.

School Year 5 is our biggest recruitment window. We contact those on the waiting list in School Year 5 around March/April of that school year for summer sessions. We then advertise to local schools and on social media.
